NOTA DE PRENSA

Isabel Cuadrado presenta Medidas Temporales, su cuarta exposición individual en la Galería Vértice de Oviedo, integrada por obras realizadas a lo largo de este invierno en Fiskars AIR, Finlandia.

«El clima durante esta época del año, el frío extremo, la nieve, condicionan de manera decisiva la vida diaria, que discurre principalmente en un entorno doméstico. La casa se convirtió de este modo en materia prima de mi trabajo, lo que me permitió descubrir toda una serie de relaciones entre los objetos de la residencia, el mobiliario, la luz… que quizá en otras circunstancias me hubieran pasado inadvertidas.

Una segunda parte del trabajo que desarrollé allí, consistente en realizar a diario, y a lo largo de un mes, una instalación distinta para un mismo espacio, está recogida y documentada en el blog http://marzo2011.wordpress.com.

Ambas experiencias, el blog y las obras que ahora presento, forman una unidad de sentido pues son resultado de una misma investigación y análisis exhaustivo del entorno más cercano, al tiempo que se complementan en su intención de dirigir la mirada hacia el misterio de lo cotidiano.»

TEMPORAL MEASURES

Isabel Cuadrado introduces her fourth solo exhibition Temporal Measures at the Gallery Vértice in Oviedo. The exhibition consists of several pieces of art that were created last winter in Fiskars AIR, Finland.

"The weather in winter, the extreme cold or the snow have strongly influenced my daily life, which run mainly in a domestic environment. The house thus became the raw material for my work, which allowed me to discover a whole series of relationships between internal objects, furniture, light... elements that might have otherwise gone unnoticed.

A second part of the work I developed there was based on the daily work carried out during a month that was aimed to create a different installation every day for the same space and the results are collected and registered in the blog http://marzo2011.wordpress.com.

Both experiences, the blog and the work I am introducing now, are part of the same unit of meaning, as they are the result of the same investigation process and of the exhaustive analysis of the immediate environment. The two processes complement each other as they focus on the mystery of daily life'.
